2020

UPCOMING EVENTS

May 8, 2020 at 7:30pm
Upcoming Chapter Program
In the calendar year of 2020, the Alamo Chapter will recognize the 150th anniversary of the birth of French organist and composer, Louis Vierne. To mark this commemoration, the Advisory Board is sponsoring a Member's Recital of the French master's organ works on Friday, May 8 at 7:30 PM in Parker Chapel at Trinity University.

Many people know of the large-scale Symphonies and Pieces de Fantaise, but there are a number of well-written, smaller-scale organ works that many of our members play in worship services or studied in their past (the Twenty-Four Free-Style Pieces, for example). We want you to think about participating in this fun program, which will be hosted by David Heller with concert commentary provided on the life and work of Louis Vierne. If you are interested and have some ideas of possible repertoire, please contact David Heller directly (dheller@trinity.edu) and share your thoughts. We want to get as many of our members involved in this program as we possibly can, and give Mr. Vierne a proper San Antonio celebration!
